Wednesday -- April 6

—Read Acts 16:25 ESV

“About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them...”

Late at night in a dark prison, Paul and Silas sang.

Paul finished a hymn, and Silas started another. And in between, they prayed. They were chained to a wall and in a dangerous predicament, but they rested in the shadow of their Helper’s wings. The so-called authorities imprisoned their physical bodies, but their souls and spirits were in the shadow of their Helper, and they sang for joy.

And prisoners were listening.

Consider these questions and thoughts today

  • Are you under the shadow of the Helper’s wings?

  • Are you praying?

  • Are you singing for joy?

  • Who is listening?

  • Someone is. Someone is listening to your song and your prayers.
