This song says a multitude of things.1)\"I've got a fire for a heart.\"This says that there's a passion for what is being done. That the author (aka One Direction) has a passion for what they are doing, which is entertaining people.2)\"I'm not scared of the dark.\"This says that there isn't a fear of what's out there. They aren't afraid of taking risks and what could hurt them. This is also ironic because Zayn from One Direction, who left months before this song was created and published, was afraid of the dark.3)\"You've never seen it look so easy.\"They can do it. They can do what they set out to do with ease. People say they can't, but they easily prove the haters and doubters wrong.4)\"I've got a river for a soul.\"I'll never stop trying and running. Rivers tend to rush and twist and turn and are never stopping. They are continuous and constant. I think this is saying that the author will never stop trying. Again, this is ironic because Zayn from One Direction is afraid of swimming.5)\"And baby you're a boat. Baby you're my only reason.\"The purpose for a river is to guide a boat to its destination. The boat, most likely represented to be a fan or a girl, is giving the river (the author) a purpose and a reason to keep going and trying.6)\"If I didn't have you there would be nothing left.\"If the author didn't have somebody or us (the Directioners) there would be no reason for them to continue.7)\"The shell of a man who could never be his best.\"There would be this empty person that would never want to try because there would be no purpose, no reason for trying.8)\"If I didn't have you, I'd never see the sun.\"There would be no happiness left without the purpose. There would only be questions and thoughts to bring them down.9)\"You taught me how to be someone.\"The author was taught how to be themselves, how to be who they are. They were taught a lot by the person/group of people.10)\"All my life, you stood by me. When no one else was ever behind me.\"You were there for me no matter what happened. You were with me and supported me through thick and through thin. You were always there, even when others quit and ran away. There is even more irony in this because Zayn left and no longer stood behind One Direction, quite literally actually, because in a 2012 One Direction photoshoot, Zayn was standing behind the rest of the band members.11)\"All these lights, they can't blind me.\"I'm surrounded by camera flashes, phones, lights, etc., but I will never forget who I am now that I have you to lean on.12)\"With your love, nobody can drag me down.\"As long as I have you, nothing can hurt me. No hater, doubter, or paparazzi is going to hurt me or bring to my lowest.
I would say it's about their mothers.\"All my life, you stood by meWhen no one else was ever behind me\" -pretty self control explanatory.\"All these lights, they can't blind meWith your love, nobody can drag me down\"- lights may stand for famous here. not only positive but also negative with hate comments etc.there are more verses that speak for it and of course it could also be about a person you are in a relationship with, but the one about the moms is really sweet and would fit.
I think that the song is all about staying tall with their heads in the sky after Zayn left. I also think that they just wanted to do what they did best after Zayn left to work with Naughty Boy. Nobody, nobody. They did not want Zayn to drag them down. And he is not, because the song said no one could. It probably had to do with the fact that with their fans they did not want to focus on worrying moments.
Friday just became that much more amazing. One Direction's \"Drag Me Down\" music video is officially available for everyone to watch on repeat. What a glorious day, right Now all those die-hard 1D fans can watch Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, and Niall Horan in their very first video without fellow band member Zayn Malik. As sad as that might be, don't let it get you down, because the video has all kinds of sentimental value. For example, did you notice that \"Drag Me Down\" is just like the \"I Want It That Way\" video from the Backstreet Boys
That's right, 1D channelled their inner BSB in several ways, which I'll explain in a second. First, let's discuss the fact that the Backstreet Boys love One Direction's new video. For real. The '90s group that stole my heart throughout elementary and middle school can't get enough of the latest and greatest boy band. On Friday, BSB tweeted, \"love the video! cheers @onedirection.\" As you can see below, they also included a space shuttle and an airplane emoji. Yep, Nick Carter, Brian Littrell, Kevin Richardson, A.J. McLean, and Howie Dorough see the similarities between \"I Want It That Way\" and \"Drag Me Down,\" too.
var addthis_config = {\"data_track_addressbar\":true};Drag Me Down has been released for quite sometime already. The song and music video have already been feasted upon by millions and it is only now that I share the song to you, my reader... not as a revelation but as a celebration of my personal experiences and outlook in life.Challenges and tribulations are ever-always present, but I do believe nothing disturbs a free and peaceful spirit. The song just resonated in me because of the message that I can relate with, especially of empowering one's self and manifesting independence. The One Direction song may be focusing more on love, but there is nothing greater than loving one's self and finding one's niche in the universe and those are just the starting point of making you strong physically and internally. And eventually, as the song suggests: nothing will drag you and me down.So here it is: watch One Direction's Drag Me Down music video.Hope the song has uplifted your spirit as well.As few thoughts on the video: This is I think the very first One Direction music video that features the remaining four members of the band (after Zayn Malik left the group). It's kind of ironic, also, that this happened after the latter's departure, giving away the message that despite what happened the band will remain strong, or stronger than ever. On a side note, I just noticed that Louis is now getting more air and video time, if you know what I mean. The astronaut theme in the video is a paradox. It's as if the band's journey is reflected by a flight of a spaceship: the most crucial and hardest part is the moment when the craft is at the verge of breaking free from the grasp of gravity, hence \"drag me down.\" As a juxtaposition it shows that the member have to train hard to face the hardest struggles, to prepare and eventually surpass all personal limitations. 59ce067264
