Hello folks,
I inherited my grandfather's (92 year old) JC Higgins 78-357 special ranger. The gun is blued and in excellent condition. What I am not sure of is the year. I think the gun was made in the 1930's or 40's. It has the double action safety and the single action safety. It is marked JC Higgins. It has the single action/double action lockable barrel. The sights are adjustable. The left grip is stamped with J C Higgins and the right grip has a stamped on it. The grips are made of rubber and quite smooth. The left grip has the serial number stamped on it and the right grip has the model number stamped on it.It has a 4 inch walnut stock and a 4 x 24 inch barrel with a muzzle crown. The gun is a smoothbore. The ejector is stamped on the left side of the barrel near the breech. The right hand side of the gun is smooth and has no markings. The left hand side has a series of numbers stamped on it. I can not tell if this is the serial number. The numbers are stamped inside the frame and it looks like the numbers are stamped in the center of the top of the frame.I know this is a bit of a long shot, but I am curious as to what the year this gun was made is. The serial number doesn't look like a years number, but it's not a 1950's year either. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you so much,
Debi
Most certainly can tell you the year a 38-357 hammerless was made. High Standard was the manufacturer. Another possibility is that this could be a 38 Special that was made by Natchez Trading Company. This company made 1911's in the 1930's and 40's. They also made newer guns, including the 38 Special. If this is the case, the serial number would begin with a 9 and the model number would be starting with an X. Again, if this is the case, it is going to be a newer gun, probably 1950's. Debi

I am running a PC with Windows 7 and Adobe Photoshop CS6. I am wondering how to end the trial period and convert to a full copy of Photoshop CS6. I tried closing down Photoshop, which produced a message telling me to return the disk. I did that, but the same message returned. How can I end this?
